The council consulted the local community to learn about the improvements they would like made to the Recreation Ground, and the most requested was a footpath and lighting. After completing the footpath, Solar Vision LT with Volker Highway were able to provide a sustainable solar lighting solution and installed a total of 16 Spectrum Astral Columns without the need for any trenching, cabling work, or mains connections.
Esther Masters, Senior Community Project Office said "We are delighted with the result which will allow our residents to feel safer when using the footpath in the evening. As well as enhancing the safety of our residents, these solar lights run wholly off-grid helping us move towards our carbon neutral goal for the borough."
